Last night the Detroit Red Wings were giving up goals like Oprah gives out cars.(Well, except for Scott Gomez).
I am humiliated. Last night's game was embarrassing to watch. A SIX MINUTE POWER PLAY! But I don't want to harp on a game that was tedious to watch. I think the only reason I kept it on the television was because I don't know what else to watch. Suggestions? Are there sitcoms any more? If so, what's good? What I do want to talk about is Pierre Gauthier and how fearful we should be that he is the one in charge right now.
Last night a fellow Habs fan on Twitter mentioned that this is the worst season for the Habs. I disagreed, I said the Centennial season was worse. In truth, both are terrible so let's compare and contrast to come up with the truly worst season of the Habs. Though to be fair, this season isn't over yet – things might totally change between now and April, in which case I will just delete this post :) I've broken down the post into categories; expectations, offseason, regular season moves, on-ice drama, off-ice drama. For each category I chose a "winner" for the worst season. My conclusion ties it all together. It was the first win I got to see live this season, and it was the first time all season I remember actually having fun. The Bell Centre was loud. Hell, the "wave" even happened. The Wave! I didn't even know people did the wave anymore.
Happy New Year! I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Florida where I caught giant fish, had dolphins follow my boat, and learned a new golf grip to keeps my balls from going way left! All in all, a successful trip. One of the highlights was scoring tickets to the Panthers / Habs game on New Years Eve. It was my first away game, and I was very excited. We all know how it turned out, but for those of you who have never been to the Bank Atlantic Center (which is probably only 10 people, since the whole arena is filled with Habs fans), I thought I would offer you a few observations from my time there.
