Does the world need another hockey blog? Another Habs blog? Probably not, but I can’t seem to keep my mouth shut. The blog is called Lady Loves Hockey, because that is exactly what I am, a lady who loves hockey. While my female counter-parts are numerous, there aren’t that many blogging.

Do I have a unique female perspective on hockey? Probably not – but it’s a good differentiator marketing-wise, and I’m capitalizing on it :)

All that to say, it goes without saying I am a die-hard Habs fan, and have been since I was a wee little girl. My first hockey memory is of me at six years old crying at the top of the stairs because my Dad is taking my Mom to a game and not me. He took me soon after to watch the Nordiques play the Montreal Canadiens. I  remember two things from that game:

1- Our seats were in the mid-reds behind the visiting goalie
2- I mistakenly asked my Dad what would happen if I cheered for the Nordiques – he said I would get thrown out of the Forum. Needless to say, I never questioned my allegiance since that day

My favorite player growing up was Patrick Roy. I was a goalie and I wanted to be like him so badly! I actually flew into a pre-teen rage when Manon Rheaume got to practice with him and the Habs!

My current favorites are Tomas Plekanec and PK Subban, with an honorable mention to Max Pacioretty.

In real life I am the marketing and communications director for a company based here in Montreal.

Steph, never liked the shootout! But, if we must have it then pick (5)shooters each, best out of five wins two points. Losers get (0). No more holding back late in the game to get (1) point. Winners should be rewarded.

Hey! For some reason your comment went to my Spam and I just saw it now to approve.. My apologies!
And I agree with you, I am not a fan of the “loser” point. I am really keen to see that Shanahan experiment of 4on4 OT for 3 min, then 3on3 for 2 minutes. That would be exciting hockey.

Chara is a goon and deserves being suspended until the start of next year MINIMUM. Chara thinks because he is big and sort of strong he can punish people. He could have killled a man last night???? Lucic going after Poulin come on Lucic you wimp fight the big guys. I saw Laracque trying to get you too fight years ago and you skated away just like Poulin did. Poulin did it because he is smart and preferred to get 2 points rather than 2 minutes. Thornton you dont even deserve a comment. Chara almost killed a young player and does not even get ONE GAME. The NHL blew it AGAIN and now these bully Bruins will continue. This is hockey Bruins fans not bar room brawling. We are held accountable in life why not hockey. I have played hockey for over 30 years and I was the tough guy on the ice. I always knew where I was and if there was an open door or end of glass, I would hold up or even hold my opponents jersey to make sure he was ok. Chara knew what he is doing and it is too bad he was not punished. Lucky for Chara Max will be fine WE HOPE but these loser Bruins are like bullies in school. Bravo Habs you beat the Big Bad Bruins where it COUNTS on the scoreboard
