…And on the 6th Game, the Lord Gave them a Caught Edge

Sometimes something from above interferes and delivers a miracle. With the Habs up 4-1, losing the lead (again) and heading to shootout, I honestly believed that if Devin Setoguchi had not somehow tripped, he would have scored and the 4th round would not have gone in the Habs favour. It was a hockey miracle.

Morning After – Whole Lotta’ Hart

I just got back from the Irish Embassy St-Paddy's breakfast and had a few Irish coffee's. It's not even 8:30 am, and I would like to go back to bed and click restart. That being said, I am still feeling the electricity of last night's win. Maybe it's because I had pvr'd the game and got to watch the entire thing commercial free, but that was one of the more exciting games of the season

Morning After: The Wounded (aka the game in Buffalo)

Morning After: The Wounded (aka the game in Buffalo)

I do hate to brag, but I believe in my post yesterday I predicted a 1-1 game that would be sent into overtime. I'm like some kind of gifted hockey-savant, I should start betting money on games, I could become a millionaire (except for the fact that I actually predicted the Habs would win, and my savant abilities don't seem to foresee the plethora of injuries the befell our team last night). As with all fans, the highlight for me last night was the PK Subban and Price love taps in the middle of a play. I'm a sucker for a good bromance, and I think the CPPK love affair is developing in to one of the best bromance story-lines of the season.

Morning After: Calgary

I was going to start off with rant about how it's unfair that goalies get criticized for adding a little colour to their performance, but goal scorers are given free reign. Unfortunately, I woke up this morning to hear that PK Subban's goal celebration made headlines. I'm so annoyed, when did this game become about punishing happiness? So now, in protest to people's protest about player's having a little fun, I will not dedicate a single word more to this event. Instead, let's talk about how we all knew, in our heart of hearts, that the Habs being up 4 goals meant nothing and that we knew there would be a collapse and a Calgary comeback. How did we all know this? Because it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. Kudos to Carey Price for settling his team down and helping them scrape by for the OT wi

Morning After – Devils

December 3, 2010

Watching the Habs beat the Devils last night was like watching Usain Bolt enter a sprint against The Biggest Loser. The New Jersey Devils are in dire straits, and sometimes it feels good to beat up on a weaker opponent. Not to take away from the Habs performance last night, but the Devils truly are terrible. You have the 10-million dollar man doing absolutely nothing, an aging and injured Brodeur, and their only goal scorer sidelined with injury as well.

Montreal IS better than Toronto

November 22, 2010

It's true...when it comes to sports, Montreal is just a better city than Toronto. We shut them out Friday in hockey, and the score wasn't even close in the Eastern CFL semi-final yesterday. But, that's not what I want to talk about. I'm already a day late when it comes to the hockey game, and I know almost nothing about football. Besides, I am a little bitter that my statistical analysis that predicted a loss to the Leafs was wrong! This throws off my whole game, and now I don't know what the results will be tonight. Thanks a lot Price and the rest of the Habs for totally embarrassing and blanking the Leafs. Thanks a lot Komisarek for forgetting what team you are on, and assisting Cammy for the go-ahead goal.

Morning After – Islanders

My ball hockey team lost 5-2 yesterday, so I was in a bad mood when I got home. There's issues with my team – no concept of team play, no talking on the "ice" (floor?), and no "puck" support. I'm praying I get traded :) My losing team is the EXACT opposite of the Montreal Canadiens and the game they played last night. The way the Habs are playing right now epitomize team play and I have just a few points about the game last night:

Sabres/Habs Live Game Review

Went to the game last night. Snapped a few photos to share with you all, and gave my humble five observations. I'll try and do a similiar post whenever I go to a live game. I'd like to be able to do it EVERY game, but time constraints would make that impossible. Enjoy!
